How much does Drive Rake cost?

Drive Rake starts from $1,050 (including the $300 equipment setup fee); longer driveways cost more. That figure comes from the same quote engine that writes your proposal. It is our maintenance tier, priced for a driveway whose base is still sound and whose stone is mostly still there: the Ruckus Rake loosens the surface, pulls displaced stone back where it belongs, and the drive is compacted.

What does the Drive Rake warranty cover?

Drive Rake carries our 90-day workmanship warranty, as written in our proposal terms (gravelboss.co/terms): it covers defects in grading, compaction and material placement, and does not cover normal wear and settling, snow plow damage, heavy vehicle damage or acts of nature. It is also why we look at the base before quoting this tier. If the base is failing, raking it is the wrong service and we will tell you so.

How is Drive Rake different from Drive Restore and Drive Rebuild?

Drive Rake works the surface of a driveway that is mostly sound; it does not correct drainage. Drive Restore (from $1,500) reshapes the crown so water runs off the surface. Drive Rebuild (from $2,800) adds fresh stone when the base is too far gone to work with. We measure first and recommend the lowest tier that solves the problem.

Do you bring new gravel?

Not with Drive Rake — this tier redistributes and recompacts the stone already on your driveway. Most driveways have more usable material than the owner thinks; it has just migrated to the shoulders and into the low spots. If there genuinely is not enough left, that is Drive Rebuild, and we will say so before booking.

How long does it take?

Most residential Drive Rake jobs are a single visit, and your proposal states the expected time before you book.

Do you need to see the driveway first?

We start with a Grade Scan ($149), a measured survey of the driveway's grade and drainage, so the recommendation rests on measurements rather than a walk-around opinion. That is what tells us which of the three tiers your driveway actually needs.

What Does Drive Rake Include?

Drive Rake includes Ruckus Rake surface recovery, weed removal, stone redistribution, compaction, and our 90-day workmanship warranty. It is built for driveways that still have usable stone but need the surface tightened, leveled and cleaned up. It does not correct drainage; that is Drive Restore.

Loosen the Surface

The Ruckus Rake breaks up the packed top of the driveway and brings the old stone back up. Stone that was buried under dirt and grass comes back to the surface where it belongs.

Weeds Out

Weeds, grass runners and dirt buildup in the stone are pulled out and separated from your gravel.

Stone Redistribution

Your existing gravel is spread evenly across the full width of the driveway. Thin spots get filled. High spots get leveled. No new stone required for most driveways.

Single-Pass Compaction

After redistribution, we compact the full length of the driveway to lock the stone back into a firm, stable driving surface.

When Is Drive Rake the Right Fix?

Drive Rake is the right fit when your driveway is mostly stable but showing weeds, thin spots, minor potholes, loose stone, or an uneven surface. It restores the top layer and compacts it. If water sits on the drive or the same holes keep coming back, the cause is drainage, and Drive Restore is the right fix.
