You already paid for stone once, and it sank. Before we sell you more, we measure the driveway: most drives need their existing stone reworked, not another load. When new stone is the answer, we deliver it, spread it on grade and compact it as part of Drive Rebuild (from $2,800 (including the $300 equipment setup fee); longer driveways cost more), which includes 2 inches of fresh stone. Unlike a tailgate drop that leaves the stone on the old shape, we shape the drive first so the new stone goes down where the water runs off.

Measure first: we measure the driveway so you buy only the tons you need, and none you don’t.

Stone selection: limestone from local Northeast Ohio quarries: #304 for the base, #411 for the driving surface, #57 only for drainage.

Controlled spreading: the load is spread as evenly as possible during the drop, then worked out across the drive.

Grade and compact: the new stone is graded to rebuild the crown, then compacted tight.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best type of stone for a driveway?
#411 for the driving surface. It is ODOT 411 stabilized crushed aggregate, 1.5 inches down to stone dust (fines), which packs into a firm surface. #304 is ODOT 304 aggregate base, 2 inches down to fines: the base course under the surface, not a finish surface.
Why shouldn't I use #57 washed stone?
#57 stone is “washed”: it has no dust or fines. That makes it good for drainage, but it does not pack down. It stays loose underfoot and gets pushed into the yard, so we use it for drainage only, never the driving surface.
Do you just drop the pile, or do you spread it?
We spread and compact it. Stone we deliver onto a driveway goes down as part of Drive Rebuild™, graded and compacted, not left as a pile.
