Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best type of stone for a driveway?
#411 or #304 crushed limestone are the industry standards in Ohio. They contain both crushed angular rocks and stone dust ("fines") which allows the material to pack down like concrete.
Why shouldn't I use #57 washed stone?
#57 stone is "washed," meaning it contains no dust/fines. While great for drainage, it will never compact. It will always remain loose, like walking on marbles, and will eventually get pushed into the yard.
Do you just drop the pile, or do you spread it?
