How to Handle a Gravel Driveway in Troy
If the middle of the drive is lower than the sides, it's working backwards. Heavy wheels on a soft base press the centre down and push stone outward, until the drive is a shallow channel that holds every rain. On Troy's flat, wet clay there's no slope to rescue it. The Drive Restore brings the stone back from the edges, raises the middle above the sides again, and compacts it. Road guides call for about half an inch of fall per foot of width, and on ground this level the drive has to supply all of it.
If the edges hold water, give it a way out. Stone and sod pushed up by tires and plows build a ridge along each side, and behind that ridge the clay stays soaked.
