Subgrade Compaction & Fabric: We roll the dirt subgrade and install commercial-grade woven geotextile fabric to prevent mud from swallowing your new stone.

Base Stone Installation: We install a heavy base layer of #1 and #2 structural stone, locking it tight with a vibratory roller.

Top Dressing & Tie-in: We apply a top layer of #411 or #304 limestone, grading it perfectly to match the elevation and pitch of your original driveway.

Can you just dump gravel over the grass?
No. Dumping stone over topsoil or grass guarantees failure. The stone will quickly sink into the soft dirt and vanish. We always excavate down to a solid foundation.
How deep do you excavate for a new parking pad?
Typically 6 to 8 inches, depending on the soil conditions and the weight of the vehicles (e.g., standard cars vs. heavy RVs or equipment) that will be parked there.
Should I use Geotextile fabric?
Yes. We highly recommend woven geotextile fabric under any brand new gravel expansion to separate the sub-soil from the clean stone and drastically extend the life of your driveway.
